PayPal’s Privacy Settings Redesign
DESIGN FOR PWA & MOBILE WEB · USER TESTING · RESEARCH

INTRODUCTION
Early 2023, we launched a redesign of the Data & Privacy settings for the PayPal consumer app, an update now utilized by over 80 million users globally.
This project entailed a complete overhaul of the interface to create a more user-friendly and transparent experience, addressing crucial data protection regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
By revamping the data access, privacy controls, and user navigation, we aimed to enhance user trust and ensure seamless compliance with international standards, while also improving overall usability and engagement.

TIMELINE
As lead product designer, I was involved in discovery, ongoing delivery, optimisations and vision work for the mobile app experience.
I worked on the core identity verification framework, focusing on an accessible first experience, a reusable pattern for businesses to run their verifications and the Digital iD profile.
I was heavily involved in research activities from creating prototypes to support testing right down to helping researchers take notes and synthesise results.
Throughout my role, I helped mentor two other designers on the intricacies and patterns around mobile design.
